Thursday 18th August, 2022 – Richard Phillips Racing

Organdi ran a fine race last night at Worcester to finish third in the valuable three mile handicap chase.  Given a lovely ride by Sam Twiston-Davies, she travelled and jumped well throughout and stayed on to be beaten a nose for second and three lengths behind the winner.

With the downpour the day before, the ground rode a little bit on the easy side for her, however it will be good to find a suitable race to bring her stamina into play.  She looked magnificent in the paddock beforehand and continues to give her owners plenty of excitement.

Corrany was beaten some twenty lengths by the winner in the handicap hurdle but galloped all the way to the line and will hopefully take his chance back at Worcester in a handicap chase next week.  With luck, fences will bring about some improvement.

We have declared Keep It Brief in the two mile handicap at Lingfield on Saturday evening.  Georgia Dobie takes off three pounds as he carries top weight and he will wear cheek pieces.  His rating on the all weather is higher than it is on the turf but he appears in good form at home and we look forward to keeping him busy on the flat until the ground eases for a hurdle campaign.

The York Ebor meeting is always one of the highlights of the flat season and yesterday’s performance by Baaeed is right up there with the best we have ever seen within the sport.

Temperamentally different to Frankel – he appears to have no chinks in his armour and has been brilliantly handled by connections.  Although they will be the first to admit that training brilliant horses is one of the more pleasurable jobs in racing.

Let us hope he continues to show his brilliance for the rest of this season before passing it on to his offspring for years to come.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
